French 8-day mantel clock, by Le Roy a Paris - Ref: PG 008
Case veneered in rosewood with boxwood marquetry inlay, and traditionally known as a Campaign clock.
The movement has a silk suspension pendulum and strikes the hours and half hours on a bell.
The engraved silvered dial is set within a decorative gilt bezel with bevelled glass, has Roman numerals and breguet-style moon hands. A gilt handle to the top is of an unusual design featuring clasped hands.
The movement can be viewed from each side via glazed diamond shaped windows.
